<p>No “it’s coming” or “find out more&quot;.”&#160; Just a banner that says I can watch Netflix on PS3 now (once my DVD arrives).&#160; And this just after I start seeing those great PS3 commercials showing how it is also about the Playstation Network and not just games.&#160; So if both the PS3 and XBox offer Netflix, and the Wii by Christmas, what does this do for the console, cable and broadband TV industry?&#160; Possibly everything.</p>
<p>If people start seeing Netflix as a service they can get via video game console boxes, then they start seeing their console boxes as a broadband replacement for cable boxes.&#160; This can potentially change how consumers view the whole TV experience and start redirecting TV viewing habits from live to TV to greater increases in TV on demand.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Tubemogul’s latest research finds that Twitter video referrals have a high rate of engagement.&#160; They recorded a sample of 6,763,690 video streams from links on Digg, Facebook and Twitter. Audiences coming in from Twitter watched a video 36.91% longer than viewers referred by Facebook and 49.98% longer than viewers referred by Digg.</p>
<p>Tubemogul says this is “contrary to its stereotype as platform for ephemeral thoughts, Twitter is referring some of the most engaged video viewers out there.”&#160; That may be one stereotype, but others see Twitter as a distribution tool similar to RSS – a list of links of interest.&#160; From that perspective, this does make sense (and makes beating Digg, another link centric resource, even more interesting).</p>
<p>From what I’ve seen in the past, Digg users seem to skew younger and Twitter users older. Can that demographic difference explain the difference?</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><a href="http://blog.nielsen.com/nielsenwire/consumer/global-advertising-consumers-trust-real-friends-and-virtual-strangers-the-most/" target="_blank">Nielsen’s new global consumer survey</a> insights into what people “trust” in terms of information.</p>
<p>Communications people looking to see how different mediums and modes of communications compare in terms of trust might find it useful.&#160; It may not be as useful for advertising.&#160; For example, from a PR point of view its notable that keyword ads on search engines are lower down on the trust level.&#160; But they can still work well for advertisers.</p>
<p>From both a marketing and PR perspective, I found it interesting that brand web sites and sponsorships were high up next to consumer opinions and editorial content.</p>
